handsome two-family house in porter square. regent street is just a couple blocks from the porter square red line t (baptiste yoga’s on the corner) so it’s a walk-to-everything location. the street is a mix of single family houses, multi-families, and condos in converted turn of the century houses or the modern lofts built at the end of the block. the house will appeal to owner-occupants who’ll appreciate the single family feel of the larger unit. it has its own entrance and offers four bedrooms on two levels. regent st is a super location for investors since apartments this close to the t snowy day trip destination – the wayside inn in sudbury a couple of weeks ago my parents and i drove out to the wayside inn in sudbury for lunch. it was the day after the snowstorm and the scenery was the perfect excuse for a day trip. the wet snow still blanketed the tree branches and with the brilliant blue sky it was just dazzling to drive out route 20. the wayside inn is under an hour from cambridge. the historic inn, memorialized by cambridge’s own henry wadsworth longfellow, has charming dining rooms as well as a gift shop to browse in after your meal. several dining rooms have fireplaces though only the fireplace in the tap room burns wood. it’s a beautiful place to soak up some atmosphere and enjoy classic new england style cooking.  there’s more to see when you’ve finished lunch. henry ford owned the wayside inn in the 1920s and built or moved several historic structures to the complex. in the warmer months you can walk over to the little red schoolhouse (believed to be the school mentioned in mary had a little lamb) or up the rise to the martha mary chapel. down the road is the grist mill, a water powered mill built for ford in 1929. be sure to save room for fudge or candy from the wayside country store just over the line in marlborough. it’s one of the best candy shops around and the gift shop is packed with books, collectibles and more – much more. route 20 has many shopping options including country curtains, patti bros lighting, antique shops, bookstores and more. plenty to make a day of it – or a weekend by spending the night. the wayside inn is an operating inn, the oldest in the country, and celebrating its 300th birthday this year. whether you’re looking for a day trip or a weekend destination the wayside inn in sudbury comment » no more new york times home section march 12th, 2015 written by: elizabeth bolton i can’t even take my nyt out of the bag since i’m so sad about the demise of the home section my mother called early this morning. “did you get your new york times yet?” i hadn’t. my paper was still in its delivery bag unopened. “there’s no home section!” my mother speculated that her delivery guy had left it out of the bag – perhaps annoyed about his overdue tip. but a quick search online revealed the sad news. the new york times has discontinued our longtime favorite section, thursday’s home section. the home section has been one of the highlights of my week for years. i like tuesday’s science section but it’s so meaty it can take days to wade through and i sometimes view it with exasperation rather than anticipation since i know it’s likely to remain in my to-be-read pile for too long. wednesday’s food section is a bore – i just don’t care to read endless minutiae about food. and the huge two-part arts section on friday is usually tossed in the recycling bin after a glance at a review or two. but thursday? thursday was special. i pored over every article in the home
